Reading
This page introduces the authors of books I have read on my own time.
Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman
They were the first Fantasy authors whose books I have read ... they deserve a special place because they introduced me to the intruiging world of Fantasy.
David & Leigh Eddings
Two of the most ingruiging authors with a very special sense of humour. Unfortunately, the two great series The Belgariad and The Tamuli are very similar. But nevertheless both are great fun to read.
L.E. Modesitt Jr.
His Recluce Saga introduces an unique system of magic. Also, the books do not tell the story of Recluce chronologically but rather in chunks of whole books taken from different stages in history.
Katharine Kerr
IMHO one of the most gifted fantasy authors. Her Deverry series is absolutely breath-taking.
Stephen Donaldson
No one else is able to convey desperation and helplessness as believable as he does. It pains to see the suffering of the main characters, but you cannot escape these stories.
Irene Radford
The Dragon Nimbus introduces a very intriguing magic system and a unique connection between humans and dragons.
James P. Hogan
There can be only one ... Science Fiction author
Roger Zelazny
The Amber Chornicles is a great work though hard to read
Tad Williams
Memory, Sorrow and Thorn is a classical Fantasy work ... very nice to read
Stan Nicholls
Orcs is a great work telling a story from the eyes of a band of orcs.
Kate Forsyth
The Witches of Eileanan tell of a time when witches are condemned and hunted down.
Carol Berg
Her Rai-Kirah saga ist one of the best pieces of fantasy I have read so far.
J.V. Jones
The Book of Words is a great read.
Ian Irvine
His world seems very strange even to the enthusiastic fantasy reader. It is amazing how he strangely he sees and describes different races.
Philip Pullman
Although I don't like a real world settings, the story is fascinating.
Trudi Canavan
The Black Magician Trilogy is an amazing work which swallows the reader from head to tail.
